Nestled below the serene Chandragiri Hill in Kathmandu, Nepal, this 3,600 sqft residence spans two floors, thoughtfully designed for a family of four. The home features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a living room, a sunroom, a puja room, a dining space, and a kitchen. This project embraces an artful aesthetic, where handcrafted elements and natural materials come together to create a sanctuary of calmness and harmony.

The spatial layout ensures a seamless connection between the puja, dining, and living areas while maintaining intimate zones within the open-plan design. A striking bi-fold door dividing the puja and dining room with wallpaper panels serves as both a vibrant backdrop for the dining area and a flexible partition, allowing the spaces to merge or divide as needed. The handcrafted wooden pillar partition between the living and dining areas introduces a traditional touch, celebrating local craftsmanship while maintaining an open and airy ambiance.

The spaces are defined by an ensemble of different elements. materials and textures like hand carved wooden elements bringing in warmth, fluted POP trim detail introduce depth and texture to the walls, rich wooden flooring grounds the space complemented by soft printed fabrics and beautiful wallpapers that enhance the visual appeal with a delicate yet sophisticated charm.

Inspired by the client’s vision, lush indoor plants are seamlessly integrated into the design, infusing the home with vitality and a deep connection to nature. Thoughtfully placed greenery, combined with abundant natural light, breathes life into the interiors, creating a refreshing and tranquil atmosphere.

Balancing aesthetics, functionality, and tradition, the design embraces warm earth tones and neutral hues as a timeless foundation. These tones provide the perfect backdrop for curated pops of color in art, furnishings, and décor, bringing vibrancy and personality into the space. Every detail is meticulously crafted to honor artistry and craftsmanship, resulting in a home that is both peaceful and rejuvenating.
