Farmhouse
Nepal
A modern farmhouse with a rustic character, this residence is located in Chitwan, Nepal. The building is a testimony to environment-friendly architecture; rammed earth method, the most durable of the earth-buildings forms, has been adopted for the ground floor, while the first floor is constructed with CSEB (compressed stabilized earth blocks), and enveloped with stucco lime plaster. Simple angular slabs that cap the building impart dynamism to the elevation while wooden details rule the interior spaces. The massive openings ensure generous amount of natural light and ventilation, and create a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor areas.
